Forks arrived wel packed, much apreciated! I fitted them and a load of other bits today. I bit disappointed at first then realised they were massively overfilled (twice the ammount required) with oil causing the spring rate to ramp up under compression only giving about 60mm travel.

5 bike shops later and I found the required 7.5w oil, refilled and reset the rebound damping which is adjustable on both legs on these and are now as good as new.

Scratching not bad enough ffor me to worry, it's for riding afterall!

Nice to see something I've sold on a bike, people always say they'll post a picture but it's rare that they do!
What had twice as much? Air or oil? I'd never even ridden them, they were on a bike I bought for my wife (as were the P2's) she wanted suspension but didn't like the colour. I'd only tested they worked by putting the steerer on the ground and compressing I also checked the rebound worked this way.
Glad there fine now though.

No problem, overfilled with oil causing the spring rate to rise exponentially & hydraulic lock!

unless you took the air out you wouldn't have been able to get enough force without them mounted in a bike.
