Bodge of the day

I have struggled to get proper mudguards to fit on my cyclocross bike which I am using as a winter road bike. It is a strange design with eyelets for racks front and rear but not enough for mudguards. The bike has mini v-brakes fitted which means the standard canti brake boss cannot be used.

A bit of head scratching and raiding the nuts and bolts reserve came up with this.

Parts used:

chain keeper from a singlespeed chain tensioner.
2 x bottle cage bolt spacers
adjustable spacers from a v-brake
1 x cleat screw
5 x bolt cage bolts

Very pleased with the results and just wish I could get out and ride the thing.

Bodging is an art, and in a lot of cases is not the botch many think it would be, so bodging could just be a synonym for thinking outside the box, which in the case of the OP, very much is a case of, as most would just think stuff it, the guards don't fit where they are meant to, therefore they cannot be fitted, back to wet legs and ass, or not riding the thing.

From what I can see, the OP has engaged creative and successful thinking, perhaps not how many others might see it, but they work and that is all that is required of them.
