(Blue)? Peugeot PX10 fork wanted

puggear

Retro Newbie
An idiotic moped rider recently wandered into my path at a junction, & has bent my forks to the side. I've been informed that it will be difficult if not impossible to set it completely straight again, & am in the market for a peugeot PX10 (type) fork, although roughly similar styles would work I think.
It's a threaded top, & not too long so should fit most sizes with a cut-down.

I'd love to hear from you if you have anything that fits the bill, thanks for taking the time to read this anyway.

Cheers!

Correct me if I'm wrong but a Peugeot of that vintage would have a quite-hard-to-find 22.0mm (rather than the more common standard 22.2mm fork) with matching headset and stem (eg Atax).

I have a steel Peugeot fork from 1978 that might fit the bill, it's been mediablasted and powdercoated in gloss black (unused since) so would suit any colour frame (sort of) provided it's used in conjunction with a 22.0mm stem and headset.

What year is your bike and what size frame is it? If it's same or smaller than my old one then this fork should work

If it is smaller, as you say you might want to trim it down (or just use a suitable 1" ahead spacer).

Cheers,
Al

Al,

Fantastic news! I'll have to measure up when I get home but will get back to you asap. Not 100% sure about the year as it's been through quite a few pairs of hands already, but I've been told early-mid '80s is a reasonable shout.

Thanks for the reply anyway mate, get back to you shortly.

On Nathan, I suspect it'll be older but not sure. Have you a 1" standard 22.2mm headset nut you could try on the fork thread? It will fit but will be looser than you like, if this is the case then it's French threaded (LIKE MINE) which requires a 0.2mm smaller thread.

FYI mine has a 199mm long steerer (incl. 31mm thread)
