I just took delivery of a nice red old planet X stem and a red hope hub[XC?] on a red mavic X517.The rim is fine and actually looks new.The hub however looks pink, like its been sat in the sun for several years.

The sellers pic shows the hub but it looks redder that in real life[touched up maybe :? ]

As its for a red and black build up,im not too bothered, sure i'd like it to be a nice deep red like the other reds on the bike.but for what i paid im not complaining in the slightest.
Damn nice rim and so difficult to find 8) ,im happy just to have that.
The stem has a few scratches and worn sections, none of which were presented in the pic or the description
Now ive paid this guy and i suppose im happy with my purchases.
But will this fool admit that its up to him and him alone to present all the facts on condition and age . the onus is not on the buyer to ask and if he didnt ask that question then tough cheddar ........

55 FB and still has his head up his own ****

No close up picture of the hub. worrying. But a close up of the nice rim. leave neutral feed back saying why. or negative feed back?

Strangely enough ,leaving bad feedback is always the last thing on my mind.To me if i get the items and am reasonably happy is the main and only consideration.
If fact i think im best withholding feedback rather than leave negative or neutral.
Call me mad

Perhaps i just like to have a really good moan at the seller

Maybe we should all hang on to our faded red ano and offer it to someone who's likely to build a pink bike

But that is exactly what neutral FB is for. You're not unhappy with your purchases, but you're not exactly dead chuffed either. Tell it like it is.

That's probably why there is no close up of the hub!
Have a whinge and a moan then go from there.

I do remember BITD when I had my first hope Ti hubs how they fades to pink after a year and a half (dint get much sun back home in south wales!)

red anodising is renowned for it's ability to fade to pink. Personally I would ask for loads of extra photos if I was into buying secondhand red stuff!

My Hope hubs are now very pink. My Red Race Face stem is still, after 13 years, including much sun, very red and minty.

Must have to do with hopes choice of colour, maybe theyre not strong enough to begin with,to last the test of time[or sun]
any other makers ano parts fade as quickly? :?
