Blackwall or Skinwall

Retro Newbie
Hey Retrobikers, I'm trying to get my 1994 Ventana Marble Peak as close too being period correct as possible. My question for you all is...What tires should i use Blackwall or Skinwall? Thanks in advance for your time, knowledge and opinions!

Really up to you what looks nice on the bike. Either would be correct on the bike.

I tend to prefer skin/amber wall tyres on the old bikes but black wall (not the same as modern rubber) can look right on some bikes.

I tend to go against 'regulations' and run modern black treads, based on availability and safe performance, as I use my bike everyday. My old Smoke and Dart disintegrated long ago sadly. However, I'm tempted to suggest some new Onza Canis or Ibex amber/skinwalls having seen these. Or any new repros of old classics. But Fluffychicken is right – go with what you feel is best for you and suits the scheme of your bike – what colour is the frame btw?

Hey Groovyblueshed,my frame is black. minor_LEGEND,when I got the bike it had one of each...lol. I was kinda leaning towards the repro skinwalls or maybe a colored panaracer fire xc pro...too obnoxious?

Start a build thread, get some pictures up and maybe mockup tyres... Or even both at once if you still have them.

I cannot see the bike so hence replies are hard.
