Whilst communicating back-and-forth with Gil over the design of the replacement decals, he suggested I should try a ti seat post rather than the black Thomson one.
I've never ridden a ti post, but quite liked the idea of it matching the frame and supposedly they're comfy, so managed to track one down and hopefully it'll be here in the next couple of days.
I've ridden Thomson ti bars before, but prefer the feel of their carbon bars, I think they're comfier, the Thomson ti bars are pretty stiff.
That got me thinking if could could treat it to something else with a ti flavour instead....

The seatpost arrived today all the way from the Netherlands, so thanks to 'Remko' on here for that!
Got straight into refinishing it, managed to remove the laser etched Airborne logo and give the whole post a lovely brushed finish that matches the frame perfectly! Gave the aluminium rail clamps the same treatment and fitted a couple of new clamp bolts as they were rusty.
Final wee touch was one of Gils Black Sheep logos... and it looks mint!!

The 9iner ti cog arrived in the post this morning!
"Cogalicious" the cog most certainly is, weighs about as much as a postage stamp and looks amazing!!
Very nicely presented in its own little tin with a spacer kit and a lockring, but unfortunately they're not ti :?
Totally ridiculous I know, but it cost less than an XTR cassette so it's all good in my head!
