NOW SOLD

picked these up on ebay last week for a rigid project but have ended up buying a frame and forks so they are now surplus.

i bought them as a pair of zaskar forks and am assuming that this is true but i cannot 100% vouch for it.

canti posts and a disc mount - described in the auction i won as

GT Zaskar Rigid Forks 26". Good Condition, Steerer 200mm

there are a couple of tiny paint chips and worn paint on the dropouts where the hub tightens against them.

selling for £40 posted to recover what i spent on them. NOW £35 posted

I will take a swap on pretty much anything though as I am starting a new build so will need some bits - new or old (2 pairs of V brakes & levers, wheels, mechs.... what have you got???)

to be perfectly honest, first on the list is a pair of wheels (if the ones i've asked about on another thread have already gone) - don't need to be disc hubs but do need to be v compatible rims.

i won't have the frame itself for another week so will not know about mech types / clamp sizes etc. until i receive it..

i too have lots of potential swapage but what is the a-c length on these babies? and an approx weight if possbile?

:D

getting back into the game after a 10+ year absense -

where would one measure the a-c length?!

weight is 1100 grams (just short of 2 1/2lb)

no worries, a-c = axle to crown, so from the centre of where the wheel axle sits to the bottom of the steerer tube where the lowest section of the headset (crown race) sits :D

a couple more measurements.....

14 1/4" b - c
3 1/2" between legs

steerer tube is 11/8"
gap between inside edges of dropouts is pretty much 4"

Will this fit a 1997 GT Zaskar? I just picked one up for $350 and I want to make a city bike out of it, I just got it today and put slicks on a few hours ago, but the forks need to be rigid, it has rock shocks. That fork looks nice, would you ship to USA if it fits my old Zaskar?

I have a feeling i have seen them forks on another bike not a GT, may just be similar, they are a bit like a handsome dog fork but not, but there is some bike that comes as stock with them forks and they have a name too, can anyone enlighten me?

a quick look at bikepedia, so not definitive, would also suggest that all zaskars from 95 ish onwards came with suspension forks, and before that the bologna lite, which tht aint, but i have seen that fork before
