Black Gold chain oil?

I use RocknRoll Extreme chain lube. Brilliant stuff, just follow the instructions as it is not like conventional chain lube. Once you've tried it you will not use any other brand.

Cool. I may give this a try if I can't get my hands on the Black Gold. Cheers fella!

Never used their chain lube but I did buy a tube of Black Gold grease back in about 1992. It was like thick black tar.

Thankfully they brought out a 'cleaner, greener formula', which was just as sticky but a pastel shade of green instead. Slightly easier to keep your hands clean whilst servicing your hubs...

I digress.

Bought some Rock n Roll Extreme, used it quite a lot, not particularly impressed with it. Doesn't live up to the Black Gold, nowhere near as good. Guess you can't compare to Black Gold unless you've tried it.

i remember the first time i used black gold. followed the instructions, wiped off the excess and took the bike for a ride. i was absolutely convinced it made me faster.

those were the days

'Course it made you faster. It actually lubricated your chain for more than 2 minutes unlike the shite that I bought recently!

Pedros seems to do the trick nice enough.

I did have a pov moment when no stocks, and used castrol GTX :D worked great but attracted loads of crud after a while, specialist stuff allows cleaning to be more natural as ya go.

I find that when I get home after lubing the chain with 3 in 1 or WD40 the chain has attracted a nice thick layer of black sticky gunk, kind of like crude oil.

Basicaly does the job but attracts lots of crud which makes the chain more difficult to maintain and more likely to wear other parts out quickly, IMHO.

I'm with Ed on Finish Line green top. Used it for years now and can't see me using much else until they stop making it 8)
