As luck(!) would have it I found the bottom bracket I used with my Middleburns and was reminded why I removed it.... there's a snapped crank both in them!

Well, I've tried drilling it out to no success, are there any other things I can try?

It's no biggie, it's a cheap Shimano one and now I know the correct axle length I can sort out a Phil Wood or a Royce next month.

If there's any bolt projecting, you can mig a nut on the end of it, (inside the nut) and then unbolt it.
Professionally, it's a write-off as any removal cost will exceed the value of the part.

It's completely sheared inside the BB axle sadly... aye, it's a write off. Have tried drilling, applying high heat, hammering a tap, there's no viable way to create a slot to use a screw driver.... so, I guess it's bye bye old bottom bracket, hello new bottom bracket!
