Tutbury church parts of which formed part of the former priory . The south door and arch dates back to the 11 century and is reckoned to be one of the finest in England.

Not entirely unthinkable, there is a house in a city near here with a medieval house that has arrow slots.

Given the age in which it was built [just after the death of William the Conquer] arrow slots are highly likely imho .
The priory was dedicated to William .
