Church of St Nicholas, High Bradfield, South Yorkshire. The church is mainly from the 1480s. More of note is the building in front of the church, which is built into the church walls and was built in 1745 as a watch house, apparently 'to guard against grave robbers looking for fresh corpses for medical study, with friends and relatives of the deceased often guarding the recently buried loved ones with guns'.

I was a bit dubious about that particular tidbit, as it seemed odd to me that a small village considerably outside of Sheffield would have a grave robbery problem, but everything I’ve found online refers to it as ‘The watch house’, so it seems to be true. I’d like to know more about the story behind it, though.

I guess the medical professionals of Sheffield were a shady lot back in the 18th and 19th centuries…

I think it would make sense because of its closeness to a major city, as the shopping would generally take place in quite less busy and unsuspecting areas.
Obviously they hit that one place far too often and caused themselves issues with families determined to hang onto all the bits of loved ones

Ok mate nice trikes did you mean these are built with a kit and can you do it with a 26inch mountain bike and any links to the kits if i read it right thanks

This is probably nearer to what you want . A Geoff booker ( "Trykit") conversion axel . The white bit and chrome stays , bolt to a standard road or atb frame . Not available new . Geoff has retired . But s/h conversion axel and s/h Trikes occasionally do turn up . I bought this for my mum S/H, but mum did not like riding it . So the motor went on her shopping bike and the axel was fitted on to an Audax bike frame . just re rim the rear wheels to what ever size you require . This and some George longstaff are 2wd . a cassette carrier is fitted which has 2 sets of paws in different orientations which engage in teeth and give drive to which ever wheel has traction . But also freewheel like a normal bike .

Thanks matei keep an eye for a conversion also i guess you need a frame with seat lugs as well cheers
