I’ve started 2020 with some flu type illness so apologies for the delay in this, and the December poll. It’s time to share those builds you’ve finished off during the holidays. Just a standard month for January.

Just the usual rules apply....

Useful for the poll if you can structure your nomination as follows:

username's Year Manufacturer Model , e.g. John's 1990 Kona Lavadome
Image(s) MAXIMUM OF 2
Finally please include a link to your machine in the relevant Reader's Bikes section. If you don't have an existing post now is the time to add one with as much detail as you like!

Nominations thread will run for the entire month. Entries submitted after January 31st will not be counted. The poll will go up shortly after the nominations close and will run for a week.

Wow! And I though the other Lotus was beyond reproach. Nice!

Cheers, the natural daylight shows the red and the colour of those amber walls at their best I think. ;)

Great bike Peachy. You're the first to enter a bike this month and you were first last month. Maybe I enter one as second in row again? I've got it all built and ready but need some decent photos.

Another beaut, love the Lotus, preferred the other one. But we are splitting hairs, very likely to get my vote again, like Decembers!

Cheers guys, as you may have already guessed, both bikes were built side by side over the last 12 months.... the XTR certainly rides well.
Both will be going to Mayhem as paddock show ponies for me and my lad

This bike actually should have been in the "splatter and fade" month, I know...

I don't have a building thread as I found the bike almost as it is on the photo. The guy I bought it from was the first owner, rode it for a couple of times but came to the conclusion mountainbiking wasn't his thing. So the bike moved to his barn somewhere back in 1994 and came out when I bought it (3 years ago). I just had to give it a good clean, regrease parts and put new cables and a pair of decent tires on it. It also came with the original flip flop stem but I didn't like the position so I went for a good old Syncros Cattlehead. Apart from the tires, the stem and the rear U brake (the LX was broken so I replaced it by an XT from the same period), the bike is catalog spec (even the grips).

Here is

WimVDD's 1992 GT Karakoram "Tequila sunrise".
