BoTM Bike of The Month August 2025 - Blue-collar Special - now taking entries

Bike of The Month
@Carge's 1992 Breezer Sky

It's nowt fancy - there's LX on it - and it's original (as far as I can tell) apart from the bars and tyres that I threw on there.
And the thing is - riding it just puts a smile on my ugly chops.
And yes that is some of my homemade raspberry cider in the first pic 😁

Build thread here apparently - https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/92-breezer-sky-build-thread.457027/

No build thread as I saved it from the trash and only removed all the bird poop, regreased everything and threw on some new tires, brake pads and grips and saddle from the parts box.

Now it makes for a super comfy touring bike.

LOVE IT! Well rescued! That saddle in the original picture is insane. It hurts my eyes just looking at it.

Don't you think you could hang just a few more bags on the bike??? ;)🤣

What's in the 2L Volvic water bottle strapped to the back of the saddle??? 🤔

The definition of a blue collar steed, attainable but a cut above the masses. The sight of this fat tubed purple maelstrom of aluminium cutting through the gloom in Spring 93. A teenage lad pushing crisp tenners across the counter.

No build thread, I was so deep in heady nostalgia I didn't think to pause for photos.
It rides wonderfully, the tires, THE TIRES. They hum along and it flies along the bridleways of the South Downs.

I love it, can you tell.

There's nowt bling, my only 'upgrade' was an alloy bar and I specifically chose a plain black version. Keep it real.

Here's a silly one minute vid about nostalgia and middle aged men.
