I looked at a post of mine from last Aug 31st, it was about my attempt to reduce my bike numbers to 24 by then. I thought I would update on progress since.
Ignoring family bikes that take up space in the garage my tally then was as follows:
2 GT Zaskars, M2 and M4 Stumpies, 1990 Rockhopper, 2 Kona Cindercones, Kona Fire Mountain, 2 Rotrax tourers, Tsunoda 80s road bike, 2 Raleigh Dynatechs, Ribble 653 road bike, Carlton Cobra full chrome, Kona Jake the Snake, Team Marin, Marin Bear Valley, Charge fixie, 2007 Specialzed Tarmac with full Dura ace, Cube Attain road bike, Cube Ltd mountain bike, 80s 531 Falcon ladies tourer and a Whyte something or other.
I have managed to sell/donate/trade out the following from that list:
1 GT Zaskar, 2 Kona Cindercones, Kona Fire Mountain, 1 Rotrax tourer, 1 Raleigh Dynatech, Ribble 653, Marin Bear Valley, 2007 Specialzed Tarmac with full Dura ace, 80s 531 Falcon ladies tourer and the Whyte.
So 11 bikes gone. Fantastic, that should leave me with 13 bikes. Unfortunately there have been some additions:
I have acquired a Mercian KoM, a 93 Stumpie, a 99 Explosif, a Univega Alpina, 2 Dawes ATBs, GT Tequesta, Bianchi San Remo, Raleigh Triathlon, Spa Audax, Giant Cadex, M Steel Tourer, Kona Kula, Falcon Carmargue
I also have six other bikes that are going next week so I won't include them!
There have also been a number of bikes that came in and went out in that time, another 12 bikes approximately.
The net overall result seem to be 26 bikes in my garage as of the end of next week vs 24 Aug 31st 2024.
Not too bad I suppose and I have six weeks to show a negative number for the year which would be an achievement.
I have two bikes up on eBay atm and the 93 Stumpie, the Univega, the Dynatech, the Cadex the Kula and one of the Dawes are definitely going to be up for sale in the next two weeks, so I may be 5 bikes below last year's number if all goes well.
