OK so thought originally this was a Raleigh of some kind Its now clear it isn't.
Been and had a look today.
Guy says it was built for him by a friend who owned or worked in a bike shop in London and it was built to compete in the London to Brighton in around the late 80s possibly.
It's been built with mainly Shimano 105 (cranks, hubs, gear mech and levers, headset) with SLR brakes and levers. Mavic rims.
Now the frame... It dosent look like it's ever been repainted so it's Silver 531c. Top tubes got a very faded decal on the left side that says Rapide and the serial number on the BB is S8936 but I can't see any other markings. No drilled holes for a headbadge.

Having done some quick research I'm thinking it's a Revell Rapide.
It fits in with some pictures I've found.in the freewheel catalogue and also fits in with the London bike.shop.think the seller mentioned.

Haven't taken many yet. It's got a 105 freewheel and hub in a Mavic rim
Small racing sized gear cluster
