Bike delivery companies

I've just bought a 1995 Marin Rocky Ridge from someone at work. Unfortunately he lives a few hours drive from me (he works from home) and it's going to cost more than I expected to get there on the train.

Can anyone recommend a bike delivery service. A quick search on Google brought up paisleyfreight who do it for £21. I don't think I'm going to get cheaper than this but the only issue I see is they collect anytime between 8am and 6pm. I could do with someone who can set more of a collection time. At least break it down into pre and post noon.

Is he boxing it up? If so check Interparcel or Parcelmonkey, you should get a better price but depends on the box dimensions.

Good luck with the time slot though. You can work it to two hours on Interparcel for collection if you choose earliest as 3pm but as for delivery? Not so easy. If you find one offering that at a decent price let me know.

Cheers for that. I typed in the dimensions on what I though a bike would be and it come back at over £238 :shock:

Going off what bike boxes normally are it's come down to around £12.99 with interparcel. I'm waiting to hear what the exact dimensions they are going to pack it up to are.

The earliest collection time is a good option. I'm not too bothered about delivery as I'll get it delivered to work.

where is it and where are you? you might find someone on here that is able to pick it up and box it, and even post it if the seller is unwilling.

send it now I've used a few times and they don't seem to ask for sizes just the weight for the price depending on insured,next day etc they varied from 10-16 quid

I normally check the pick up list on here for members close to a possible buy to see if anyone can help before i pick it up
