I like human endeavour. Altitude climbing without oxygen. Alpine style ascents. FKT on the South Downs. Hardline.
All good in my view. Pushing hard, exercising good judgement, weighing things carefully and making a call when things align.
But Matt Jones - who I respect - has done something very weird here...deferring all the key elements in human judgement to a system designed by others. '...if it's green, go...'. And that's it.

A dull experience despite the skill and risk. I'm back into the workshop to maintain some felling tools...where's the tung oil?
