UN makes a move.

Whatever your political viewpoint, let us remember the people putting themselves in harm's way.

My opinion. There is no moral argument defining our role based on our prior involvement, this is happening today.

I am delighted that after all the hesitation the UN have gone beyond a basic no fly and have basically given a wide remit to the intervention.

How could we stomach Gaddafi ranting about Britain after Lockerbie and recent events?

Also happy at the thought our forces might be saved from further hack ups once we are reminded what they are there for.

i felt this was an inevitable consequence of events there.......i feel for the families of those who have to go and do the job though.......

he should have been removed a long time ago when he was caught supplying arms and c4 to the ira.he has blood on his hands that we should have sorted.its too little too late.its the same when the serbian problem was going on.all these gutless mps having a debate while they sat and watched 1000s get murdered and the peacekeepers had to stand and watch.its the same here.i recall a british soldier face to face with one and he was pissed and let him know about it.we should have helped at the beginning when he was clearly rattled.air support only works if there are troops on the ground to enforce ya will.ask the poor devils who were on the lockerbie plane what they think.another prime example of what a waste of space the un is.look at zimbabwe..mugabe has been doing it for years and nobody did a thing...if libyia was in europe im fairly certain he would have been taken care of a long time ago...i think its called not in my back yard syndrome.

Great play from Gadafti.

Temporarily relinquishes control of an area of his country, giving him time to regroup whilst still selling his oil, I am sure the plan was to have him holed up in Tripoli, on borrowed time.

Cameron must be squirming now, this was his chance to about face on the military with some grace.

Looks like they will be letting the 'rebels' do the job after all in the long term, having armed them and trained them.

yeah it is the oil scenario again.......thats why mugabe and others do it with no come back....they have nothing to take.....

You know what happens when we stick our nose in......we get burned.....leave them to it I say............

can someone explain it in laymans terms?
i find it hard to understand when names are flying around everywhere and i dont want to read page upon page to understand all the happenings from the past 40 years :?
