Best tyres for my Zinn

Hi all.

I need to replace the old Panaracer Smokes that are pretty worn out on my Zinn. Any recomendations for a good all round off road tyre would be appreciated.

I use continental edge on mine, seems to be quite a good all round tyre, pretty much limited to under 1.95 on the rear due to clearance, originally came with a continental Baja but their pretty hard to find these days.

Yes, I still have one of the original Continental Baja tyres, which I have stuck on the front. I will look at the Edge. It's slowly coming back as to why I had such a narrow tyre on the back, the clearance. Good job you pointed that out or I would have wasted money on a wider tyre. Cheers

Mine came with Ritchey Z-Max tyres. Gum wall / tan wall / whatever wall...

Although usually assumed to originally be spec'd with Contis, I'm pretty sure these were original to the bike as everything else was original, everything else was immaculate, and the tyres were cracked.

The bike was barely ridden as it belonged to a roadie who was trying out MTBs before deciding they weren't for him - and I very much doubt he ever changed anything on it.

Panaracer Fire XC Pro are a good modern alternative and tend to come in on the narrower side. The 1.8 is a brilliant tyre - looks almost semi-slick but still grips well!
