Best store in New York, NY

Spikes

Retro Guru
I'm heading to New York in a few weeks. What cycle stores are definitely worth visiting? I'm into road racing and mountain biking. Retro obviously

TOGA in Manhattan (can't remember the precise location  ). If you're planning on buying anything, head out of Manhattan.
I'd recommend Roy's on Sheepshead Avenue in Brooklyn. I 1st went there when visiting my brother-in-law for the first time. He lived not far from it. I remember stopping outside, intimidated by the HUGE grills on the windows. I remember going down the side street to get in, through a HUGE steel reinforced door, and then........................

LOADS and LOADS of Yeti ARC's.

Would love to say I came away with one but sadly no. I did however come away with a pair of RockShox Mag 21's, a pair of Answer Hyperlites, a pair of Ringle Bubba hubs in blue and one of those new fangled CamelBak thingy-mi-bobbies.

There was also a shop in Manhattan that had a Klein fuselage in EVERY colour scheme hanging from the ceiling (can't remember the name though), not that they'll still be there (the Kleins  !).

Check NYC Velo on the lower east side. Nice collection of modern stuff for sale and some classics on display, including Scot Nichol's personal bike. RA Cycles in Brooklyn sometimes has some neat older stuff but the staff is famous for being nasty and unhelpful.

Check nycmtb.com for info about riding in and around the city.

I also know of a place with a couple Cunninghams, Potts, fillet brazed Ritcheys etc ;)
