Best new tech to put on a retro bike?

- Cheap high power LED lights like Fenix, especially ones with a strobe.
Got to be the best thing on a bike,you can see them for miles and they cost pennies to run.

- Truflo Evolution pump. A mini floor pump that clamps to your frame - faster than a lot of big floor pumps.

Must admit to my rapidfire fetish though ,thumbies are good but i prefer my ""retro"" era.
Having ridden the three types of brakes through their transition ,i'd sum them up as ->

I think the LEDs are a great mix of aincient and modern. I've been experimenting with running a Cree 3w LED through a 2.4w Sturmey-Archer dynohub, and the results have been rather impressive. I'll post a thread about that at some point.

The Truflo Evo is insanely good. It's the first time I've used a pump and ended up saying "It can't be done already???" instead of "When the f**k is this b****r going to have an enough air in it?"

I'm still not getting this: I've never had a problem getting the wheels of a bike to the edge of a braking skid using cantis, any more braking power is pointless, and different brakes can't change where that skid kicks in. Dealing better - much better - with mud I can see, and fewer overheating problems. But raw braking power???

For me discs= less arm pump on descents with the bonus of 1 finger braking
Pump? CO2 is much quicker out in the field,but running tubless and latex milk pretty much irradicates the problem
