best lacquer to use

Does anyone know of a good lacquer that I can spray onto a frame after I have put the new "A list" Gil M decals onto it?

Thanks

i've no idea what goes on a bike in the way of lacquer ,with furniture its a 2 pack acid catalyst ,but i reckon it would be the same stuff takes about 2-4 hours before it can be overcoated
or any 2-pack plasticoat ,ie one that 'cures'
ask in a car spray workshop ,they'll know what works and what doesnt

On my Cannondale and Kona which I had it done by powder coated, I just put the decals on top and leave it, it's waterproof, if the decals get damaged due to wear and tear, you can always take the damaged decals off and put some new ones on again, while it's lacquered, it would be harder to replace them if they got damaged, that's my view.

How the frame going?

Slowly! It will go to the powder coaters tomorrow, the colour that I wanted is only finished in Matt so I was going to lacquer over the top of it.

But now I think that it will be easier to get a similar colour in gloss.

I have got some great decals from Gil M and after seeing these guys riding single speeds on the BHF southdawns way cycle ride, i'm thinking that I going to make a single speed thrasher out of it.

Not sure how retro it will be - as funds are short and I'll simply have to use what I already have but I'm sure that it is going to be a rocking machine.

I'll post some photos when it is done.

I share the same sentiment as Guybe.

I have had decals over laquered but only by argos.

Did try using a plasticote type laquer on a rattle can paint job and the solvent removed some of the colour from the decals these were not Gil_M decals though

Gil_m's decals once applied correctly are really sticky anyway so there should be no need to over laquer.

Just my 2p's worth.
