Best chain for 8 speed cassette?

Looking for a good quality chain (but not silly money) for use with 8 sp XTR (if that makes any difference) cassette.

What would you recommend?

I've used various SRAM 8sp chains with no issues. I used to fork out the extra for the shiny, bling ones, but now I opt for the cheaper ones and change them more frequently before they munch chainrings etc. away.

Spot on as above. Any Sram (still think of them as Sedis) 8 speed chain is the best by far.

SRAM PC68 is the top end 8 spd chain, highly recommended

I've never had problems with Shimano snapping but in my experience they don't wear as well as SRAM.

I have joined shimano chans the 'old way' with no problems.
