Thanks guys. Generally I do have a go at most things but I want my ride to work 100% perfectly and to be as smooth as possible.

Your comment about horror story's from Southdown is worrying. Another friend recommended them so I was going to there

Avoid Southdown Bikes - I'm another horror story victim!!!

Quest good but expensive as said before
No experience of The Bike Store
Nothing but good stuff to say about Blazing Saddles in Rustington though!

I used to work/hang around and volunteer in "blazing saddles" great guys in there if its still the same guys.

I would really encourage you to have a go yourself, a chain whip and cassette tool would cost far less than what you'd spend on getting a shop to do it, and then you have the tools to do it again in the future or help others.

If you were closer I'd come and do it for you, those jobs are so easy

That's really kind of you, tbh chain whips scare me lol, I am not good with chains and have lost a few connector pins (so I've gone for SRAM with power links lol)

I Can't tighten up the non drive side of my external BB as the tool I have is a complete circular shape and won't fit around the bb due to the shape of the chain stay on the non drive side

As Max said, Martin at City Cycles in Chichester is the only person i'd take my bike to if i couldn't do it myself! As for Blazing Saddles they're good but a little too expensive.

As for geared in Chi i would never go back to him! If you're not riding a Trek or Lapiere then he'll stick his nose up at you. He isn't cheap either

there's also *shudder* a new SouthDownsBikes opening in Goring, I noticed it on the way home tonight..

Offington lane isn't too far away, Monkeeee. Not sure how busy I'm going to be over the weekend as it's her birthday tomorrow, might be able to do something either Friday afternoon (after 3 or 4-ish) or Sunday..depends on how badly you'd like help  (probably ought to check with the boss that i can vanish for a couple of hours, too)

more than happy to come over to you...

That's the trouble with most bike shops they like their preferred brands and if ever you go in there with a problem or question they just turn their noses up and try and sell you what they stock.

Rayment cycles in Brighton are like that, if it ain't specialised then they ain't interested!

Hey dude. Don't worry if it's your lady's birthday.i'm going to give the mech ago and see if I can borrow my mates chain whip.

I want to ride Sat am with a bit of luck (and a lot of hope)

I've used this shop

Hi, I have only had experience of the Bike Store at Worthing and have taken my 90's Cinelli road bike for bottom-bracket replacements. I have always found them to be very professional and reasonably priced.
