BENOTTO MODEL 3000 1979 (PARIS-ROUBAIX)

Cipo I like your 3000 its a bike it looks great. I've been trying to get my hands on a 3000 frame in good condition for ages but they are rather thin on the ground.
I've got this one which I was told is a 5000 Profil?? it too has the diamond stays but apart from that I don't know much else about it.
I'm putting a link up to the detailed photos I've taken of it in the faint hope someone might be able to shed more light on it.
Any help or info about it would be very much appreciated. I've no idea if it Italian or Mexican built.

The unique frame number on the underside of the BB shell
I will post a photo later. If the rain eases here on North Wales.

Re:

I established the fact that this frame is from 1979
No doubt about this because of the unique frame numbers on the underside of the BB shell
Two sets of numbers both sides
1st set gives the date (1-23-79)
2nd set gives the frame size (1-81-57)
I have been told that possibly the frame was built by DE-Rosa
Heart shape cut out on the BB shell
I have no doubt in my mind that it was built in Italy simply because of the questions and answers written on the original E-Bay auction
One bidders comments were that it is a rarity in it's self due to the unique frame numbering and also the Porta-catena fitting on the rear RH dropout and DT lever with special trigger for easy removal of rear wheel if punctured in races etc

I would appreciate any other information regarding my Benotto

Thanks

Thanks Cipo.
Really interesting - I was trying to work out when they changed from brazing the cable guide from the top to the bottom of the BB shell (and stops from top to bottom of chainstay) - the model shown in Sunday in Hell (1976) has the guide on top, and yours definitively from 79 has it below, probably the first year they did it that way.
