Belt

Total waste of time and pretty disgusted that they're trying to develop something new to sell us!!! Duplex roller chains 99.98 percent energy efficient, only .02% power loss on a clean lubed chain, just think about that OK? Toothed Belt drive???? 78 percent, at best on a clean belt, thats like having your brakes on! They suffer with terrible drag and tend to tighten as they warm up, putting pressure on the bearings, also imagine the effect a flint has under the belt, flicked up from the wheels? Orange have understandably had major problems.

Does belt drive squeak?

I read somewhere that it can squeak if it's dry and dusty....apparently a squirt of water from your bottle sorts it out.....bit like amp bushes then...a retro fix for a modern problem

Thanks for that,

But do you know by any remotest chance whether or not they squeak?

I have never been one to be bothered if something works brilliantly well.Just as long as it looks cool, different or quirky thats good enough for me.

It has to be, i haven't run anything Shimano for about ten years.

Jango you are a star!

I used to pee on my Amps when they started playing up. But don't tell the bloke that bought them from me!

Cheers,Al

I've heard of that trick too, just didn't like to mention it

Squeak

Well Cam belts and Power steering belts don't squeak do they?, but I did read a report that mud builds up under the belts and pulley, tensions the belt, makes it very hard to pedal then knackers the bearings!

my pulleys and belts on my car are always making noises!

Mud?

Cheers,Al
