Belated stiction on Pace RC36's - help pls!

Hi

Have a set of Pace RC36's, magnesium drop outs, oil + coil version non-air (I think not Pro II's though). They move feely and smoothly pre a ride. Throughout the ride, they stiffen up to the point where I'm only getting 10-20mm of travel. During movement, I hear a slight 'phfishh' - I guess air being expelled?

If I leave them overnight, they then move freely again.

I have cleaned the lowers; regularly grease via the grease port; have changed the oil.

Any clues as to the problem or how to resolve? (Failing that, I'll prob send off to Fork English - Tim's advice was to keep the lowers clean).

Thanks

Hmm...does this happen on wet rides or any ride?

If the former it may be that the wiper seals are letting in a little water which will stiffen them up considerably but then dries out to be ok again later.

If the latter it could be a problem with the facings on the bushes in which the stanchions run-some are known to expand through the heat generated while the fork is 'in action'

Cheers :D

thanks - I think it happens wet and dry. Does that mean the facings (are these the 2 'bearings' that the stanchion runs on?) need replacing, or is there a cure? Do they wear over time?

Cheers
