Very entertaining when he's not baby sitting.

I presume you mean babysitting for other TV presenters who either (1) aren't even a real hamster or (2) have outrageous, politically incorrect opinions every weekend to a deadline in the Sunday Times? ;)

As usual, James May delivers a good TV show when going solo - I enjoyed Sunday night's programme and will be back for more next week.

As a motoring aside of sorts, the class of train behind it was often nicknamed "Bubble Cars" ;)

Even more pertinent edit: said railcars also had the less common nickname of "Bug Unit"!

actually, so does Clarkson. Some of the history stuff was really well written and presented.

As for Hammond ... Wipeout

must be the Top Gear lads culture that brings out the worst in them

Re:

Hammond also does some nice science documentaries and some sciency kids shows like Blast Lab.

Nothing too taking but it works well with kids taking interest.

As for top gear, I think they play the role they are paid for quite well. It designed perfectly for its target audience...

James may does the more grown up versions of Hammonds programmes.

Re:

Poor effort this week. Too many pointless 'top gear style' challenges taking up valuable time and presenting us with less facts. Plus he manages to get some references to Clarkson in there. Is May besotted with him?
