BB "adjustable"

Would I be right in my guess, that a bike from mid-eighties with an "adjustable" BB with a spindle/axle length of 124mm would originally have had a triple crankset? It is a Raleigh "Routier". O! hi folks BTW, long time I know... Just that my postie turned up with a skip-find...

He has not pots of ££ nor does he care much, I am tending towards a cartridge, but why so long?

That would depend on it being original may have been a home fix and a MTB BB was put in

Home fix is deffo on the cards.. The BB was cross-threaded, and the crankset is made of cheese...
