Barn Find GT LTS 2000 DS and GT LTS 5000

Microft

Retro Newbie
Here's a bit of a "Barn Find" for anyone who's interested. About 20 years ago, my dad, then aged 62 decided to buy a couple of full suspension mountain bikes for himself and my mum. A GT LTS 5000 for my mum and an LTS 2000 DS for himself. My mum, not being involved in the decision, made it pretty clear she wasn't about to take up mountain biking. Apart from me and my brothers doing a couple of laps of the close we lived on, the bikes ended up being put in the garage and padlocked up almost straight away. They've stayed there ever since and at the age of 82 my dad has now conceded that they are not very likely to be ridden!

So we chopped off the locks and I'm putting them up for sale. They are completely original and as they were when they left the factory. They are also in just about mint condition having never really been used and kept in a dry garage for the last 20 years.

Anyone interested?

Here's the spec of the 2000 from Bikepedia though my bike has a "Kore" stem and "Astro Professional" Handlebars

Re:

Blimey mate they are mint, can’t believe they will be around long, glwts

Love the rear reflector placement

Re:

Crikey! it's like they've just been brought of of the bike shop for photos, talk about being in "time warp" Condition! Shame they're not the top LTS models, but I'm sure a GT fan somewhere will be getting a little moist looking at that pair

You should post an advert in the "Mtb For Sale - - - >1997" se toon if the forum, you'll get more I terest there I suspect.

That's the first time i've seen a steel one. Probably more desirable today than back then. Otherwise.. i'm pretty much speechless!

Re:

time warp indeed ! loving the atd .. yellow rock shox tag on the rear spring !
