Banging in Rockshox dust seals?

I need to install a couple of dust seals on some Indy forks. Stanchions on these are 28.6mm and there are some tools available in this size, but they tend to be a bit pricey. Anyone have a DIY method they could recommend?!

A socket in the nearest size and a mallett

Yup, Socket, and a mallet, just be careful to get the size right.. so you dont pinch the bit of the seal that protrudes upwards under the socket.. as its easy to split that part seal if the socket is too small..

Thanks gents. Turns out my star-nut inserter outer was the perfect size!

Funny you say that, I discovered that too. Still bought the right tool in the end, but will probably need a new one for the new fangled 35mm seals.
