I'm a huge fan of this series after watching the series and have only just today seen that Major Richard Winters passed away on the 2nd of January 2011
I make a point of logging onto his official page on a regular basis but I hadn't done so this year and was shocked to read this news tonight.
I've been re-watching the series again this week after lending it to a mate and not having watched it for a while.

For those who haven't watched this series, then do so....it awe inspiring!
For those who have then Dick Winters, Beyond Band of Brothers is a fantastic read.

one series i always mean to watch, The Pacific is good as well, all the more when you see other programs where they interview the actual people portrayed in the series.

when I'm a bit moody and down, I watch this to remind myself what others went through so I could be free, moody and down.

If you liked The Pacific then you'll love Band of Brothers
Its a far better series imo, and I love that they interview the veterans at the start of each episode
