I don't know about you guys but I'm starting to really despise the word "minty"

Can we ban it please? :D Its getting on my t*ts.

"Mint" is fine.

"Great condition" is fine.

"Spangly" is fine

"As clean as a whistle" is also fine.

Minty? :?

But what if the part we are describing looks like a fat balding character who has a homo flat share with a dim-witted 30 something car mechanic out of Eastenders. ie this Minty Cannondale would go great with your Gary Marin

I like it, especially the phrase 'Minty mint'. The fact it actually bothers someone now gives it added appeal.

I think all descriptive phrases are subjective to the user, especially in the context of 'For Sale' items. Lets ban them all and use *ratings instead :?:

***** NOS, Totally unused and in the box as the manufacturer created it.
**** new fitted to a bike, never ridden, unmarked, no box.
*** used, a few small marks but functionally perfect
** used and showing signs of age but still serviceable
* for your SS/Jump/commuter bike - so cheap you won't care if it breaks in three weeks time

Just my 2p

PS - I have to say when I buy something described as NOS and it turns up scratched or muddy it really p's me off!

great idea Kev :D Wonder if a score out of 10 might work just as well (seen some use that system already).

Yeh like it. Good system.

I feel most people will use 2/3 stars for most items though but its a good way of illustrating condition.

My main gripe was with the twee word itself - not necessarily the meaning of the word to describe condition...
