Ball bearing size for Shimano LX M550 hubs?

I've got some old wheels that roll in a very notchy kind of way even after being re-greased. Rather than bin them straight off I thought I'd try new ball bearings. Anyone know what size they are?

Most Shimano hubs use 1/4" bearings for the rear, 3/16" for the front.

Check the condition of the cups and cones though. If they're shot, new balls won't help matters much.
