Badly Described Alpinestars.

Well i went and collected earlier.....

Its a bit rough round the edges, looks like its been left outside for a while plenty of surface rust on the frame and forks (thinking of a repaint if i can get some decals for it) it looks to be totally standard with an LX400 groupset araya rims tioga farmer john tyres.

I think what i will do is restore it but change certain things like the steel bars for alloy ones, junk the bar ends (never did like them) ive got some dx thumbies for it, and possibly some v brakes

pics to follow

Didn't Mike Kloser ride one like this?

yup, ti-mega
_____________

Thought Mike Kloser rode the Al Mega XT but left before the Ti Mega, Tim Davis rode the Ti Mega when he became Alpinestar team leader?

Nice score for £16 though!

Mike did ride a Ti Mega during the 1991 season, I also used one at the back end of the 91 season and for the whole of 1992. I used an aluminium frame in 1993 - Tim D.

Hi Tim!
Just out of curiosity, have you still got any of your old race bikes from Orange or Alpinestars?
Kev

ps - before the cynics say anything, no I don't want to buy them, just interested.

I will sometime when I go and get them. The Orange is absolutely as it was, even down to the tires. The Ti Mega needs the forks changing back to the Answer with the massive disc on the front. I also need to put the Profile looped around bars back on - I still have it all stashed away to put it back to as it was in 91.

Thanks for the correction Tim, I'm looking forward to seeing them in Readers Bikes (especially the Orange)!
