Great news Al :) , got any bikes/builds in mind ?

Yes. :D

I've had a 1950's Rudge hanging up in my LBS for months, so that may get the Hotrod treatment.

I have my eye on a 40's mens tourer that would make a nice 'Gentlemans ride'

I'm going to make my old Sunn Exact into a 700c town bike.

Get the Cakeshop Special back to cakeshop duties.

I am now looking for a good quality steel frame for a mid 90's tart build.

etc...

al. :D

Low Rider culture is lost on an old man from the North of England.

Low rider = those pannier racks that bolt on to the front forks of serious touring bikes. That's cleared that one up. ;)

On a serious note, good news about the back problem, have fun building and riding your new machines!

So nice to hear that you are back in the saddle. Ride as hard as you can :!:

For 4 years now i'm working on my comeback to the sports of basketball. I've ruined my knees the last three decades to a point of no return. At least that's the nonsense highly paid but still misarable doctors told me.

Truth is everything is possible.

I would throw some kayaking into the mix. One of the greatest strengtheners/conditions for the back while also mad fun, and the perfect complement to cycling.

You are in the ideal spot for it an all!

I go powerlifting. The ultimate for building core strength and resistance to musculoskeletal injury, and it annoys work when they have to get uniform especially made.
