It's been over 4 months since I last rode a bike, having moved out here steedless.
Cycled home from work today on my Langster (very kindly posted out here, you know who you are) and I didn't care it wasn't a mountain bike; it wasn't retro; that the brake levers didn't effortlessly click down through the gears as I slowed down for the traffic lights; that I have a meschersmitt twitch from commuting on 6 lane highways; that I haven't got SPDs out here; that for 52p I could have read a book on a bus in air-conditioned comfort ... it was just so good to be back on a bike.
As I thought about the feeling of freedom it gave, the only thing I could compare it to was the look of delight on my 3 year old's face when she rode her first bike at the weekend.
Must ride more.
