I intend on sticking a set of rigids in my 03 Tomac hardtail. Its an 80mm fork frame,Im thinking of a to c of 460mm?Are there any other variables to consider?

Usually look at 440-460 for an 80mm fork.

I got a 460 and have had no problems with a 60mm frame. An 80mm frame and a 100 mm frame......

I would in general agree with the last poster, but in truth there's no point in having this discussion without saying what length stem you're going to use and what kind of steering response you prefer.

Re:

As mentioned above the correct length rigid will be whatever the a-c of the current suspension fork with the sag taken off.

I replaced a set of fox 120mm forks (490 a-c) with a 470mm rigid, seems spot on.

At a guess 100mm forks would be about 470mm so use 450mm rigid

...and 80mm forks about 450mm so use 430mm rigid.

Roughly, of course.
