Probably been asked a few times, but a search turns up nothing and the instructions show everything BUT how to do that. I'm sure I knew how to do it BITD, but age+concussions=oooooh, this is shiny........

That's a PDF of the original manual which I still have from when I bought it in 86. There's nothing in it that says how to switch over. The manual for the 50 says it comes up with English/Metric when you put a battery in it. I don't recall the 30 doing it when I put a new battery in it last month, but will pull it and re-insert it to see.
