Whilst I get that a particular political party will feel like they should be "on message" - party politics needs to remember that MPs were voted by constituencies, whom MPs represent - and as such, as much as the party line, MPs should also be allowed to go with their conscience and their feeling of the pulse of their constituency.
Then I remember, it's party politics we're talking about, and rue my naivety and idealism.
