AArrrrgggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh.....caught this virus/thingy this morning.
Any simple guides to removal please?

I've had it and a similar one, Malwarebytes cleared the first one but AV needed a system restore to get rid of it :evil:

Just dump windows like I did and use a version of Linux that you fancy, Ubuntu is good, i've never looked back since. With windows you're either working on a PC slowed down by AV protection or your spending time removing ones that it doesn't catch, I got so sick of it.

If it's the one I'm thinking of that effectively seizes control of your PC as soon as you boot up/log in, it can be disabled by booting to Safe Mode and editing the registry (press F8 as the PC boots to get the startup menu). It will have a key in HKey Local Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run which launches it, ditch this and reboot then run your preferred Anti-Malware app to clean up.

Second Easyrider.

I run Ubuntu - incredibly quick after Windows, especially on my old laptop. Easy to use, and no problems with viruses or malware. They can still get on your machine, but have no effect. Super safe even the kids can't wreck it.

You can either download (free but bit of a process) or get it on CD (also free from Ubuntu). You can boot and run from disc to try it out without having to instal. Can also partition hard drive if you want to keep windows.

Only downside is it doesn't do iTunes, but apart from that it's perfect. Also comes with Firefox, Openoffice, email clients etc, so all you need really.

We picked it up last week on the desk top , I seemed to of cleared it but still cannot start up the internet through BT broadband sign in?? :?

This is a particularly nasty piece of Malware.

There really is no option but to reformat/reinstall Windows if you want to be certain that the "infection" is gone. Malwarebytes does a good job but no product is 100% accurate.

System Restore via Windows, or rolling back your system, is inadviseable, as the malware infection may be present in the selected restore point.

A clean restore using a Windows/Manufacturer CD/DVD or partition is what I'd recommend.

These days, of all the PC's I see on a weekly basis, these malware infections account for 70% of faults.
