Hi - I tried autosol on my zaskar for the first time and i have a question. i put ot on until it goes black and then polish it off to a high shine - thats right??

then whenever i pick it up or touch it i get black marks on me/it - am i doing something wrong??

BTW i'd highly recommend going over the frame with steel wool before the Autosol (if you have'nt already) , wet and dryed mine then Autosol and was'nt happy with it, used steel wool then Autosol and it came up fantastic 8)

wouldnt that scratch the frame? or was it really fine steel wool?? finding autosol here was hard enough!!

When i polished up my old Zaskar i gave it a final wipe with some alcohol cloths to remove the last residue of polish.

ahhhh meths!! good idea - now just need to find a local wino to borrow some off!!

Just normal steel wool, probably the equivilent of 1200 grit wet and dry but i thought it worked better, easier to use too, and it gets into the corners better, most hardware stores will sell it, i've used a whole pack so far and i've still to do my forks.

And knit a sweater :D
