The frame is a '95 Wheeler built by Gally in Germany, and then rebadged and sold to Audi drivers of the time. I presume through their car dealerships, although not entirely sure.
all correct
Quattro was also the name of an accessoiry line from Audi back in time
The bike was sold as "Quattro R2" mostly in dark/orange color

But some also in different color scheme, e.g. there was a "pro" variant with Rond fork and Magura HS brakes

"Would anyone like to guess what happened to the tubes after prolonged use?"
Yes, the tubes tended to split like... Well like, rolled and seem welded aluminium!
not all tubes split, just some.
It seem to depend on the tubeset and selection. All Titanal Tubes had been supplied by an Aluminium company called AMAG from Austria

There had been next to Gally/Wheeler quite a number of brands using Titanal frames like Hagan, Hercules, Biria, Sundance, Cycletech, KHS, etc..
Some had less or no issues at all like Hercules.

I do personally think especially bikes which made it now for 30 years may sustain.
But you should have a look that there is no additional thread by corrosion or been stored at a wet place for many years.

Gally went bust a few years later, which seems to have ended this kind of thing.
Yes, Otto Gally, a slovakian guy, former ski-pro, started bike business in early 90ties near Garmisch-Patenkirchen in Germany, and was quite heavily impacted by damaged frames and recalls. He went out of business and had some lawsuits with AMAG.

BTW: there was an to me even more iconic Quattro Bike.

The 1989 Quattro model Pikes Peak, based on a Litespeed, similar to Marin Team Titanium and sold from german Marin Dealer to the Quattro GmbH

There is a nice documenation https://k-i-n-g.ch/de/audi-quattro-pikes-peak-de

Also Walther Röhrl, my Ralley driver idol of the 80ties had it, and was donating one to an Museum in Munich.

Thanks for the info.

Just glad I'm not building a caralue spec bike now.
As finding a pair of Spengle's may have been a push before the end of June....nevermind what it would do to my piggy bank.

There are plenty on Spengle's on Kleinanzeigen but spendy and you will struggle to get them to send to the UK
