I've noticed that while we are all really good at popping up watches on Auction Watch although I have noticed that a few of the really rare and expensive items fall under the radar. Is this because we are all watching them and don't believe that anyone else has seen them and won't list them so that we can hope to get them cheap? If so then aren't we falling into the dangerous trap of recrimination/annoyance when some one does list like they do on MTBR and blame Auction Watch for putting the price up?
Auction Watch is there to ensure that we were open to help other members find that 'unicorn'? Without Auction Watch I'd have never got my Bradbury so obviously I'm a big fan.
I think that we are safe in the knowledge that if one of us has found a rare item on ebay then hundreds probably have (I suppose the only exception is if someone has found a mis-titled sleeper through hours of hard work on the 'bay but then how often does that happen...)
I can think of one prime example on ebay at the moment that I found last night that ends in about day. I won't list that item yet as I'd like to gauge opinion about the principle before I do it anyway...
