Thought I'd list a few to see if anyone understands or does this stuff too ???

1.
At a party I just stand and am quite happy to stare about and not talk to anyone all night and find it strange how people just burst inti instant conversations....and keep them going !

I have learnt to 'pretend' in one to ones at times and can pull it off quite well, but i'm just parroting.

2.
At meetings or courses, when it's lunch time and people group/herd together I go off and find a place without people.
I got caught in a bus stop the other day on a lunch break, i'd rather eat in a bus stop than be in the group.......i could do it, but it's not my first choice.

3.
When people tell me jokes I usually don't get them (unless i've heard them/silmilar before)......my sence of humour sometimes completly dissapears.

4.
I stare into peoples faces trying to work out what their saying / building up to/ at times and it's like there's a time delay between facial movements and hearing and processing words.

This is making me sound strange, but i can pass as being pretty normal if i try and over compensate my 1st response.

Oh and just a last quickie, give me a knife and fork and i'll swap them between hands about 20 times while eating a plate of dinner. I usually eat with just a spoon or just a big fork, no knife.

You have got me thinking now, i recognise that behaviour in me  :D

People think i am grumpy because i dont talk much and would rather spend my lunch alone .

just to add it has to be the same spoon each day, it's my own spoon or big fork......although i have never taken them out with me to eat anywhere ! Now that's a thought.

Has it ever occurred to anyone that we are all a bit wonky? What is normal? If Silverclaws were writing this he would state 'Define 'normal' ?'

It is hard for some social groups to integrate where it is easy for others. 'Only Children' was always a toughie - sometimes its hard to understand whats going on in a big group so you step to one side to observe, only to be singled out as an outsider, then if your clothes are different its spirals out of control into bullying etc.

Same thing can happen at work, the 'lads' are all into footy and you are not, so you dont integrate socially with your team, then they notice your dress sense or car choice and again, start to single you out (now made far, far worse via social networking) and work can become a bind.

Just a thought.

I have the inverse problem at work, where dyed-in-the-wool football fans are definitely in the minority, compounded by the fact that fellow cyclists are thinner on the ground still!
