Article on Raleigh Lenton series

Old School Hero
I have extensively re-written and expanded my previously published (on the RetroRaleighs site) article on the Raleigh Lenton series on my Ipernity site:

http://www.ipernity.com/blog/286349/629139

This covers the Raleigh Super Sports, Lenton Sports, Lenton Tourist, Lenton Marque III and Lenton Grand Prix as well as its Rudge, Humber and Triumph versions. It doesn't include the Super Lenton as that will be included in a future article along with the Raleigh Record Ace Moderne.

As this can be readily edited, corrections/suggestions/additions are welcome.

Many, many compliments for your great article on Lentons !

Do you have the edited file in PDF version for an easy printing ?

Thank you.

Re:

Hi Peter,

That's absolutely superb - many thanks for all the info. It's especially handy for me as I rescued a pair of 1955 Lentons (a gents and a ladies) which were on their way to the metal recycling centre recently.

They're currently in my shed, awaiting a complete refurb so this reference will be of great use indeed to see what's original and what's not.

All the best,

Simon.

Re: Raleigh Lenton

Does anyone know if the Lentons had the Raleigh 26 tpi headset and bb thread. The base models did but the better ones didn't. I have a Lenton like frame, but with a non Raleigh fork possibly a Rudge Pathfinder, it has twin down tube brazeons so possibly a later grand prix. It has a 24 tpi fork and bb. No markings on the frame but with the number 56267 EA on the seat lug.
