I share my time between Macs and other PCs. For many years.

So many households have a number of PCs nowadays, why not make one of them at least a Mac?

Exactly - as I write this, i'm on the Mac and the eight year old Daughter is on the Windows laptop...

Keep a foot in both camps I say..

Well I've posted this on a PC running a Linux operating system. No option of that.

The lack of Windows associated grief without the fanboi tax of a Mac, brilliant!

being as one of the main uses my PC gets is gaming MACs & Linux based PCs just don't offer the support.

this is most likely the main reason the pie chart is nearly 90% windows PCs.

with you on that. my laptop is running ubuntu and i think its great.

Exact same reason.
Plus a mac gaming set up will cost 4 times the amount to get the same performance :?

It is not such a black and white thing nowadays anyway. With a Mac you are basically getting a machine you could spec identically all bar the shouting otherwise.

So basically it is down to the user experience and applicability of particular software.

Even ergonomically and aesthetically it is possible to get Mac equivalence all bar the shouting.

The differences are definitely overplayed.

Must be something like justifying the extra expense or something controversial like that.
