Are these retro

I remember MBUK showing us how to make a crud catcher out of a large plastic water /oil container

Christ, how poor did they think we were sat aboard our £500+ machines

I've got one of those (the smaller top ones) - it was given away free with (I think) MBUK.
It attaches to the frame with two big "pipe clips". Actually I used it last Sunday when I took my '88 Explosif on the Manx Mountain Bike Club's annual "Coast to coast for tea and toast " run.
A great day - we were damn lucky with the weather too (although it was mighty muddy....)

I recall an interview in MBUK or some othe rag with Mr Crud Catcher. Not that he retired on it but he did pretty well for himself.

Admittedly I have one too, the transparent model held on with 2 O-rings.

Mr Crud Catcher = Pete Tompkins.

I had one of the bottom ones; the bl**dy clips kindly removed the decals off my Apex :x
The nice new ones come with some rubbery elasticy bands so dont damage the paint, and the tops of them are all rubbery so dont interfere with the sus fork crown.
I have still taken mine off though, because grit gets under it and slowy scratches away at your paint.

Absolutely right, they scratch and look hiddeous. But I still prefer that to the grit getting in y'r face slowly scratching away at my eyeballs

Enjoy

Well the time line is. And to those that like/use them they are. But if you don't want to get muddy ride a road bike
