Afternoon Folks,

I have been a Apple convert for some time now but still use a Windows PC for work.

What would be the best software to adjust images, edit pics etc? Embarrassingly I still use MS Paint for quick edits

So then whats best?

Also is there a "print screen" option on Macs? :?

Cheers,

MArk

On Mac or Windows?

Gimp is open source and free software, and is available for PC and Mac (I believe). Can be a bit obscure to use, but is feature rich, and free!

When you click on links to various merchants on this site and make a purchase, this can result in this site earning a commission. Affiliate programs and affiliations include, but are not limited to, the eBay Partner Network.
yup, Photoshop is all you'll need.

for screen shots hit apple-shift-3 (saves as png) or use the Grab utility to select a specific area (saves as tiff). the created files are ready to print or whatever you want to do with them

you can also use Apple--Shift--4 which brings up a crosshair cursor that you use to highlight just the area of your screen that you want to snag a picture of. I use this to get pictures of eBay items since I just want the auction item itself without all the other stuff on my screen getting in the picture.

Btw, Adobe will be releasing a new version of PhotoShop (as part of its Creative Suite bundle) in May so you might see some discounting in April but otherwise, I'd hold out for the new product.

Photo gimp is about the best free download I've ever come across. I know a few photographers who use it for all their work though the reference piece of software will always be Photoshop.
