Anyone try to put retro parts on their modern bike?

I fit thumbies to all bikes and old parts I like to anything that will take them. Despite years of inovation there is much that links from past to presnt and back again.

...to this day i am amazed shimano have never rereleased the thumby......its simplicity, reliability and light weight in its purest form.....i would have them on any bike i own and im sure im not alone!!

I'm a big fan of Altek brake levers and full kevlar SDG saddles on all my bikes, even the modern ones. Altek levers work great with BB7s 8)

I owned this 2007 Avalanche Expert for a few months, and as you can see put on it an old Flite, LX chainset, KORE stem, GT flat bar and grips.

However, I just never got on with a new bike and sold it to fund a 1992 Zaskar LE
